Registration

Registrations close AEDT 23:59 on the 31/10/2024.

Final titles and abstracts are due AEDT 23:59 on the 15/11/2024.

Talks

All students who wish to present a talk at the conference need to indicate this when they complete their registration.

You are guaranteed to receive a talking slot if you indicated this on your registration.

There is no price or competition of any sort for any activity at this conference.

It is anticipated that talks will run in parallel sessions with approximately 3-6 concurrent sessions.

Talks will be grouped by topic using the MSC2020 classification. Concurrent sessions will be aimed to have distant topics running at the same time.

The final details of the talks will be confirmed after registrations close  and are subject to change but you can expect roughly the following:

Program

Below is a DRAFT program for the conference. It hopefully gives you a bit of an idea as to what the conference will offer. It is subject to change.

Plenary speakers

The conference committee is excited to announce the two plenary speakers for the conference, the two winners of last year's B.H. Neumann prize:

Rhuaidi Burke

Rhuaidi is a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland. Rhuaidi's main research area is computational topology, with a focus on 4-manifolds. In particular, he is interested in studying problems in smooth 4-manifold topology via triangulations, using discrete and algorithmic techniques. Important aspects of Rhuaidi's research includes developing practical software to study such problems, and developing theory to explain phenomena seen in computer experminents.

Rhuaidi will talk about Decompositions and complexity of small 4-manifold triangulations.

Tara Kemp

Tara Kemp is a PhD student at the University of Queensland and a winner of the AustMS B.H. Neumann prize. Their research is in design theory with a focus on latin squares and cubes. What they most enjoy about latin squares is that the problems are often easily stated and quite friendly, while the solutions can be complicated and difficult to find.

FAQs

Q1 - When will accommodation information be released?

Q2 - Will there be any prize or competition for talks?

There will be no prize or award for any talk.

Q3 - When I registered, I indicated I will give a talk. I no longer want to give a talk. What should I do?
